Funds raised during the month of July will benefit Hogs For The Cause

New Orleans, LA (July 1, 2016)Mizado has teamed up with Semolina and Zea to support a new mission: pediatric brain cancer care. During the month of July, fans of the Latin kitchen can offer their support by ordering exclusive menu items or by feeding a piggy bank to benefit Hogs For the Cause, the premier funding source for pediatric brain cancer outreach services. Guests will also have the chance to win a $250 Mizado gift card when they drop their registration slip in the piggy bank.

Last year, nearly $7,000 was raised for Hogs for the Cause between Mizado and its sister concepts Zea and Semolina during the Pork of July promotion. “We are excited to extend the reach of Pork of July and increase our support of Hogs for the Cause for the second year in a row,” said Greg Reggio, chef and co-creator of Mizado “Pork of July allows our guests to both enjoy unexpected new dishes while supporting an incredibly worthy cause.”

During Pork of July, Mizado is offering special menu items with a portion of proceeds benefitting the nonprofit. Chorizo and Crispy Potato Tacos, made with smoked pork belly, chorizo and fried potatoes in a warm corn tortilla shell, garnished with cilantro, onions and radishes and a Carnitas Tamale, a combination of pork belly and carnitas served over a masa cake and topped with crema, cilantro and crushed corn nuts. To compliment these limited time offerings, guests can order pork-themed cocktails – Coopers’ Craft Bourbon & Bacon Bloody Mary and Coopers’ Craft Old Fashioned.
