Zea Braised Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Unsalted Butter
  • 1 large Yellow Onion, Julienne
  • 1 T Chopped Garlic
  • 1 ½ T Creole Seasoning, (Your favorite brand)
  • 2 pounds Green Cabbage- 1 inch X 1 inch chopped

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large pot, set on high.
  • Add the onion and garlic and saute for 5 minutes or until the onions have softened.
  • Add the seasoning and mix well.
  • Add cabbage and mix well ensuring even distribution.
  • NOTE: Break up any large pieces or clumps of cabbage. Discard cores.
  • Once cabbage is thoroughly mixed, add water and salt and stir.
  • Continue to cook on high heat for 10 minutes stirring every 2 -3 minutes until cabbage haes decreased in volume and you see liquid bubbling at the surface.
